Helping Women Take Control of Their Lives and Move Out of Homelessness

New Expectations: Gardenia's Story

Hello, my name is Gardenia and I’m a recovering addict. I have come through the streets of desolation, immorality and depravity. I have come through the avenues of physical and sexual assaults. I have ridden the highway of hopelessness and despair. In every direction I ended nowhere until finally God placed me on a road to recovery. This road is a straight and narrow one, full of all the good things life has to offer.

It was on this road that God placed me divinely at New Endeavors by Women. It has been one of the most sacred blessings of my life. There is love and compassion here. There is structure here and there is laughter and support. These attributable gifts start from the beginning to the end. As a matter of fact, there is no end, you remain connected. This road connects you to extending roads of progression and positivety, love and self respect. The executive director, program director, case managers, facility coordinator, housing and employment specialists all work together to make this remarkable road even more remarkable. I have been blessed with a wonderful case manager who helps me to take a look at me and my life thus far and to take responsibility for that life.

In closing, this is not a place for fun and games. The objective of New Endeavors is to end homelessness and to help us to recover. It is done with much gracefulness and zeal. It is geared to change us from irresponsible, self-seeking, willful people into caring, productive and responsible members of society. Simply put-It Is Geared for CHANGE! If you want what good things life has to offer-this is a great place to start.
