Helping Women Take Control of Their Lives and Move Out of Homelessness


The women who participate in NEW's programs have one thing in common: they are dedicated to turning their lives around and making positive changes. Below, meet some of the women who have accepted the challenge to take control of their lives and move out of homelessness.

 

The Long Family's Story

When NEW was awarded the contract to lead a family reunification program that would later blossom to become our New Generations program, Ms. Long and her four children were already in residence. Ms. Long was a bus driver for the District of Columbia Public School System, and a single parent raising two teenage sons and two daughters.
