Shelter Plus Care (S+C) Program
The Shelter Plus Care (S+C) Program is a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) program. New Endeavors by Women became a
sponsoring agency in 1994.
Through this program, NEW provides private
subsidized apartments and supportive services to women and their
children, who are no longer in need of the structure that accompanies
living in a shelter, but are not yet fully self-sufficient. The participating
women have a case manager who visits them in their apartments.
For
additional services, the participants have access to all the services offered
by New Endeavors by Women.
